Want to work at the Newest Zingerman's Business?  Miss Kim is a new Korean Restaurant & Bar in Kerrytown!

We are looking for high-energy individuals who love giving great service and having lots of fun at work. We offer flexible schedules, including weekends, as well as a structured training program.

We are seeking dishwashers to join us at the ground level!

Dishwasher/Kitchen Prep start at $12-13/hour depending on experience and training with Zingerman's.  Opportunities for increases after advanced training!  Miss Kim is a no tip restaurant, which means we offer equitable pay across all departments, plus benefits. Lunch shifts will likely be between 10am - 4pm.  Dinner shifts will likely be between 4pm-11pm or Midnight (Fri/Sat). Occasional long shifts may be 1pm-11pm.


Performance Expectations - Essential Functions:  

  • Basics
    • Arrives on time for all scheduled shifts, meetings, and classes.
    • Follows and complies with all applicable health and sanitation procedures as well as Zingerman's safety guidelines
    • Follows and upholds all of Miss Kim standards.
    • Helps and performs other tasks as directed by leadership
    • Must interact well with people in stressful situations
    • Presents self in a professional manner in both personality and appearance
    • Treats customers and co-workers with courtesy and respect
    • Communicates effectively with everyone  
    • Complete detailed training requirements that can take up to 6 months
    • Attend and participate in department and business huddles (meetings)
  • Dishwashing
    • Efficiently washes plates, glasses, utensils, pots, and pans utilizing automatic dishwasher and 3 compartment sink
    • Properly unloads, sorts, and stores clean dishes
    • Sweeps, scrubs and mops floors
    • Cleans floor mats, drains, walls, shelves, windows and restrooms
    • Cleans and sanitizes foodservice equipment
    • Sorts and removes trash, recycling, and compostables to designated pickup areas outside of the building
    • Stock and replenish cleaning supplies and chemicals
    • Demonstrates proper usage and storage of cleaning chemicals and supplies
    • Comfortable going through the line during lunch and dinner
  • Kitchen prep
    • Prepares ingredients per recipe efficiently and accurately
    • Maintains flow of activity during service in an orderly and unobtrusive manner
    • Maintains a clean, organized, sanitary and safe work environment
    • Work safely around hot ovens, heavy equipment and sharp utensils
    • Work in a clean and organized fashion
    • Follow clearly documented food safety procedures
    • Take direction from multiple leaders (managers, supervisors, trainers)
    • Set up and organize prep area
    • Monitor and rotate ingredient levels using FIFO
    • Keep all of the recipes organized
    • Work in a clean and organized fashion


The Success Patterns for this position are:  

  • Must have at least 1-year professional food experience and/or training
  • Able to work all scheduled shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Must must be proficient in basic mathematics;be able to understand numbers and number relationships (i.e. decimal points, fractions)Can effectively handle multiple tasks and high stress situations
  • Reliable transportation to and from work with varying start and end times

Physical Requirements:

  • Bending, stooping, walking, and standing for long periods at a time.
  • Must be able to safely relocate up to 65 lbs.
  • Must be able to walk up and down stairs.
